US Stock Futures Dip Ahead of JOLTS Report Release

Stock futures in the US dipped on Tuesday, with the three major averages slipping by nearly 0.5%, as traders prepared for the release of the JOLTS report today to evaluate the labor market's condition and reconsider the Federal Reserve's potential timing for the first rate cut. Yesterday's ISM manufacturing PMI release unexpectedly revealed weakness in the factory sector, prompting concerns about the overall economic strength in the US. Among mega-cap stocks, Microsoft (-0.4%), Apple (-0.3%), Nvidia (-0.7%), Amazon (-0.5%), Meta (-0.9%), and Alphabet (-0.3%) all traded in negative territory.

After a relatively flat session, Nasdaq ended with minor changes. The initial support for Nasdaq stands at 18,500. If this level is breached and sustained below, subsequent support levels to watch include 18,250 and 18,080 respectively. On the upside, the first resistance level is at 18,675, with potential further resistance levels at 18,870 and 19,000 if surpassed.
